$4,156,346 is requested for the Evergreen Village Flood Mitigation Project in DeKalb County. Severe storms and flooding impacted the county in 1973, 1974,1996 and 2007, causing extensive property damage.  One area of unincorporated DeKalb County that has been severely affected by flooding has been Evergreen Village.  Evergreen Village must be evacuated by DeKalb County during major flood events, which imposes high costs on the County and the residents of Evergreen Village.  Federal funding  would be dedicated to assisting with a multi-jurisdictional effort to address the issues arising from recurring flooding at Evergreen Village.
