Technology Upgrades at Rockford College
$250,000 is requested to add fiber infrastructure, modernize library resources with technology and collaborative teaching environments, and equip science laboratories and a computer classroom to significantly enhance student learning at Rockford College. The unemployment rate in the City of Rockford is 14 percent. The community lags behind the state in the numbers of residents with a 4-year higher education degree. Rockford College is the only 4-year higher education institution in Rockford and Winnebago County and the health of the college and the community are inextricably linked. Federal funding is greatly needed to help improve the facilities of the college which is vital to the residents seeking to increase their education so that they can assume their role in the city’s economic future.
Recipient is Rockford College, 5050 E. State Street, Rockford, IL 61108. Contact is John McNamara, Vice President of College Development.
