$250,000 is requested to purchase upgraded communications equipment for the Winnebago County Sheriff's Department. Winnebago County has one of the highest crime rates in the State of Illinois. To address this serious problem, federal funding will be dedicated to helping purchase badly needed upgraded communications equipment which is a vital component in the operations of the Sheriff’s Department to help fight crime.
