U.S. Dept. of Defense Energy Research Project in Rockford

$15,000,000 is requested for an ongoing U.S. Department of Defense energy research project competitively awarded to Hamilton Sundstrand in Rockford. Innovative technologies and optimization methods are critical to the success of next generation military and commercial aircraft.  Funding is needed for the Thermal and Energy Management for Aerospace (THEMA II) initiative to develop, mature and integrate the power, thermal and energy management technologies that maintain the competitive advantage and superiority for the next generation of Department of Defense air vehicle programs.
